Charlotte Harbor sunsets in Punta Gorda
Charlotte Harbor gives Punta Gorda several different ways to enjoy the end of the day. Perch 360 offers an elevated view from the Wyvern Hotel, Laishley Crab House looks across the marina, and TT’s Tiki Bar brings a lively open-air atmosphere directly to the waterfront.
Fishermen’s Village is especially easy to make into a full evening. You can walk the pier, browse the shops, enjoy the marina, and choose among several restaurants with different personalities—all with the harbor nearby.

A new group of sunset choices at Fishermen’s Village
Fishermen’s Village has added several waterfront restaurants that make sunset plans even more interesting. Village Brewhouse remains a relaxed choice for food and craft beer, while Leroy’s Fish Shack brings dockside seafood, a rum bar, and live music.
The Islands Kitchen & Cocktail House offers tropical flavors and cocktails, Castaways is a casual open-air dockside bar and grill, and the upstairs Latitude 26° dining room pairs a more polished coastal menu with sweeping harbor views. The setting may be shared, but each gives the evening a different feel.

Sunseeker and the Charlotte Harbor shoreline
Sunseeker Resort is another place Steve and I visit often for its waterfront dining and broad Charlotte Harbor views. The resort offers several ways to enjoy the setting, while the elevated Level Blue experience adds a rooftop perspective.
Access policies, reservations, hours, and venue availability can change, so I always recommend checking directly with the resort before planning a specific sunset visit.
Gulf sunsets from Manasota Key to Venice
For a true Gulf sunset, Manasota Key and Venice put the horizon directly in front of you. The Waverly combines a polished beachfront atmosphere with expansive views, while The Waves downstairs is the more casual option. Lock ’N Key is steps from Englewood Beach and easy to pair with time by the water.
Farther north in Venice, Fins at Sharky’s overlooks the beach and Venice Fishing Pier. Steve and I celebrated our anniversary there, and the sunset helped make an already memorable evening feel even more special.

Lemon Bay from the Lighthouse Grill
The Lighthouse Grill & Tiki Bar offers a different waterfront perspective across Lemon Bay. Steve and I enjoy its relaxed tiki setting, the evening views, and watching for the lemon sharks that often appear close to shore.
Because Lemon Bay is not the open Gulf, the exact view changes with the season and where the sun sets along the horizon—but the waterfront atmosphere makes it a favorite golden-hour stop.
A few tips for planning the evening
Sunset time changes throughout the year, and the best tables can fill quickly during season. Check the day’s sunset time, arrive early enough to settle in, and ask the restaurant whether reservations or outdoor seating requests are available.
Weather, clouds, construction, special events, and seating policies can change the experience. I treat this list as a starting point, then confirm current hours and details directly with each business before making a special trip.
Keep planning your move
